1. UNEXPLAINED NOISES OR SMELLS
Many people hear the sound of footsteps through the house. Knocking, rapping, or scratching on the walls or the attic. The sound of cries, whispers, or muffled voices, even music from some unknown source. You may experience the smell of a perfume or a flower not used in the house. Odours like smoke or food that can suddenly appear. And it’s not always eggs that make that foul smell.
2. MOVEMENT OF INANIMATE OBJECTS
Doors, cabinets, and cupboards opening and closing, furniture moving or seen being moved, lights turning on and off. Some of these can happen on their own, like when a bus or large truck drives by the house, but if that doesn’t happen and you actually see the door or furniture moving without any assistance, you may be haunted.
3. COLD OR HOT SPOTS
Cold spots are classic haunting symptoms, and any instance of a noticeable change in temperature without a specific cause could be evidence.
4. STRANGE ANIMAL BEHAVIOUR
A dog, cat, or other pet behaves strangely. Dogs may bark at something unseen, cower without an apparent reason or refuse to enter a room they normally do. Cats may seem to be “watching” something cross a room. Animals have sharper senses than humans, and many researchers think their psychic abilities might be more finely tuned also.
5. FEELINGS OF BEING WATCHED, TOUCHED, OR EVEN PHYSICAL ASSAULT
That feeling of being watched when you walk into a room and the hairs stand up on the back of your neck. You have a sudden urge to turn and look for someone behind you and nobody is there. A soft caress on your skin or a slight breeze on your neck or cheek from out of nowhere. You can look around for the source but can’t find it. Sometimes, but rarely, the spirits can be a little mean and push or even scratch you.
There are many signs your house may be haunted but above are just five things to watch out for. The main thing is not to panic or get scared. Believe that these spirits are trying to contact you in some way. It is up to you now to figure out what they want.
